The little things.

It really is the little things in life that matter the most. I am so greatful that I have such a wonderful family and that we get to spend time together every once in a while. I know that soon we won't get to have that and so I am soaking in every minute. And I am so thankful for those who gave the greatest sacrifice so that we all may be free. The USA has it's problems but none even compare to those of other nations, I am so lucky to live here. And I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband/hero.

Stress

So apparently when I am stressed...I work. On projects that is. The kids are having some (or a whole crap load) of medical problems that I will discuss in a post later when I have more details. I went to Target not knowing what I was getting into....damn $1 section. I bought Jayda an Ariel doll to keep her cinderellas company.....a girls gotta have friends! So while she was playing I decided to make her a shoe box doll house for her!

It's a dream house, with a bath tub (baby food container), dining table, bed and candy counter! Wahoo!! Jayda told me today that Ariel loved it, even though it wasn't real water...LOL!

And here is my next project mid stride. I am making wooden peg boards to hang up coats/hats (for Dallyn) and play dresses (for Jayda). They WERE sports theme, I wish I could have taken a before picture....bad blogger!! See the BIG circle on the top one...ya, that's a baseball and you can't even tell now. It just looks like a MASSIVE flower, lol!

And here is Jayda's finished. She LOVES it. It's just the right height for her to take them off and hang them up herself...YAY for independence!

Falling....

Everyday I fall more and more in love with my kids. I love waking up with Dallyn and getting some special time alone with him. We have breakfast together and have the best time rolling around on the floor together. He's starting to dance while he is standing, so adorable! Last night I watched videos of Jayda dancing around when she was just a little older. They remind me of each other so much. By about eight, Dallyn is ready for a nap and Jayda is normally just waking up. So Jayda and I get to eat breakfast together again (she won't eat alone, lol). She gets dressed and usually goes straight to coloring, and colors me the first picture of many for the day. Some days she will help me clean up breakfast, do laundry or put dishes away from the night before. By the time we are done cleaning up, Dallyn is usually waking up so then we are off for some fun in the sun most days. Today I think we are going to go to Dog Beach in OB....one of Jayda and I's favorite spots in SD.

This is why I am a morning person. Both kids are happy, talkative and ready for the day. They are just the sweetest and it's too hard for me to wake up and not have a wonderful day. I thank god for my kids every day. They saved me and I can't imagine life without the little turkeys!

My life

Today was a celebration of my life. Not my past or my future, but my here and now life......my kids and being their mother.

A while ago someone I know was talking about "just being a mom" and it was said in a way that made my skin crawl. I couldn't figure out why it was so wrong to be "just a mom". Today, building sand castles on the beach and swinging my babies in a swing brought it home to me. I NEED to just be a mom. My kids need ME to be THEIR mom. And I am totally ok with just being their mom. There is nothing else I would rather be in the whole world.

And thank you mom, for being the best and always being there for me even though there are 1,400 miles between us. I love you and thank god every day you are in my life!

What a day!

Yesterday we got to help our dear friend, Sarah, celebrate turning three! We had a great time and were so happy we could be there!

And to top my day off, there is never anything sweeter......or more hot....than my hubby working on my car :)

A long one.....

Alright, you all can stop the threatening e-mails that I have been getting in regards to not posting......happy now? :)

We haven't really been doing a whole lot. We are busy, but not the productive type busy. We have been enjoying our kids and friends.....and not a whole lot else! Although what a better way to spend your days?

Thank you Ariel....you have completely messed up my daughters table manners.....she hasn't done it with a dirty fork yet, but I'm waiting....

A sweet moment before bed. This is what makes my heart happy. I hope that they will always be good friends and always be there for each other when Bryan and I can't be.

Jayda and I were lucky enough to go and see the Little People show with some good friends! We all had a great time!
