In my daughters eyes
Today as I sat Jayda down next to her toy shelf to pull her beloved lovies down for the 18th time today, I wondered what she thinks and will think of me in years to come. Now, I am greeted with sighs of relief, giggles and sometimes happy screams. I hope that she realizes that everything I do is for her. I have based my entire life around this little being that weighs only 18 lbs but can push me over in a second. Today she sat in her crib and watched me clean her room. Every once in a while she would get occupied with her pink rubber ducky but the majority of the time she was carefully watching what I was doing. It also became clear that we need to move the mattress of her crib down before she starts sleeping in there because she was able to pull herself up on the rails and could topple out VERY easily. I am hoping that the transition into her crib will be a smooth one. She is doing very well when she sleeps in her pack~N~play so hopefully she will do ok. I honestly think that it will be her worrywart mom that will freak out more than her. I am planning on moving her after Christmas, after Tammy and Jen leave. They will be sleeping in her room and so it would just be easier to keep her in with us. Well, I am hoping to write in this blog everyday and write down thoughts about being a mommy and my wonderful daughter.
Navy Wife
I wear no uniforms, no blues or army greens. But I am in the Navy in the ranks rarely seen. I have no rank upon my shoulders. Salutes I do not give. But the military world is the place where I live. I'm not in the chain of command, orders I do not get. But my husband is the one who does, this I can not forget. I'm not the one who fires the weapon, who puts my life on the line. But my job is just as tough. I'm the one that's left behind. My husband is a patriot, a brave and prideful man. The call to serve his country not all can understand. Behind the lines I see the things needed to keep this country free. My husband makes the sacrifice, but so do our kids and me. I love the man I married. Military is his life. But I stand among the silent ranks known as a Navy Wife.
Nature
"Mother's milk and Mother's arms have always been available, patiently waiting for the passing of man's foolhardy arrogance, which tried to convince us that his inventions were superior to nature"

Everything the Power of the World does is done in a circle. The sky is round and I have heard that the earth is round like a ball and so are all the stars. The wind, in it's greatest power, whirls. Birds make their nests in circles, for theirs is the same religion as ours. The sun comes forth and goes down again in a cirlcle. The moon does the same and both are round. Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing and always come back again to where they were. The life of a man is a circle from childhood to childhood. And so it is in everthing where power moves.
Black Elk, Oglala Sioux (1863-1950)
Even though this quote is long, it helps keep life in perspective for me. It is so easy to get uspet over every little thing that goes wrong in life. But karma also moves in a circle so there is no need for us to seek revnenge, it is slowly coming around the corner.
