Amazing Changes

In the last month, Jayda and I have both had our lives completely changed. Hardly anything is the same as it was only one month ago. Although, all of the changes were/are definitely for the better and I am so content with my life right now.

The first HUGE happening was that Jayda's daddy, and my best friend came home after a 6 month deployment. He came home at 4:30pm and it was a KILLER to sit around all day and just wait.........thank god for Jenn and Jakob, she came over and occupied our time to make sure I didn't completely flip out! It was a great day and I am so happy to have my best friend home. He is my hero and it was sure lonely without him but completely worth it. Jayda did great with him. She was a little nervous with all the commotion at the pier but as soon as we got home she was immediately his little side kick once again. She is so happy to have her daddy home. Here are some pictures of the day!

And then, 6 days after Mr. Griffin came home, we moved ourselves into Military Housing. Thank GOD for my mommy, she came out and kept an eye on Jayda so that both of us could focus on getting moved quickly. We love our house although we are still not unpacked ( Mr Griffin decided to knock me up too soon!!!). But we are still loving being together in our new house, with our new backyard. Jayda has so much fun playing with her daddy outside and helping him take care of the lawn and trees. She is definitely a daddy's girl!

I still feel like i haven't recovered from all of this. It took a HUGE toll and now that I am pregnant, i just feel like life is STILL not back to normal. Although I am sorely aware that the new "normal" will be drastically different.

What's a happenin?

So if you are one of the few who don't know, I am in the midst of starting my own business! It's called Spit Up Happens Burp Cloths. I am slowly but surely stocking up my website:

www.spituphappens.etsy.com

It is such a great release for me to be so wrapped up in something productive. Bryan comes home in 12 days but yet I am so busy that I am not able to just sit around thinking about how slow it's going by!!

Not white trash anymore.........

We finally got a NICE entertainment center!! This one is completely intact, it's not missing the top, the doors are not so crooked that they can't even shut...........IT'S NICE!! I am so excited. But the best part is my lovely lovely friends who voluntold their sweet husbands to come and move it for me!! It feels so good knowing that I have someone there just in case I need them. Usually I am the one to the rescue but it felt pretty good to be rescued tonight. :)

Here it is! :)

Bagels are 5am exciting apparently.

5am......................I hear over the monitor.......Bagels? Alexis?

You have got to be kidding me?!!!!

Every Sunday Jayda and I drive to Mission Valley and have bagels with Jaine and her daughter Alexis and who ever else decides to get out of bed and come. Kelly has had her baby (Lauren Elizabeth for anyone who cares! :)) and so Jaine and I are the only die hards still going every Sunday. But last night when I put Jayda to bed, I DID NOT tell her tomorrow is Sunday, we are going to see Alexis. But apparently when she opened her eyes this morning at the butt crack of dawn, she KNEW where we were going!

Put me in the zoo...

Yesterday the animal lover and I took a trip to the zoo. We hit the zoo at least two times a week but yesterday was just different. To start off, it was flipping COLD! Apparently San Diegans don't handle the cold very well, we were two of the four people who went to the zoo that morning............NOT NORMAL for a friday. Like I said, not normal but GREAT for Jayda and I.

The VERY first thing we see when we go to the zoo is the flamingos (and the ducks who have flown in from the wild to mooch off of the flamingos........seriously). Jayda LOVES them and we spend about a half an hour just sitting and watching them.

The next was the Hippos, which are my favorite. We pretty much just go to the zoo for the hippos and the flamingos. Although Jayda took a pretty big interest in the monkeys this time too, and the turtles. Now that she can say the animals name's she is much more interested in them! But I digress----back to the hippos----So there was NO one down at the hippo exhibit so my little monkey got to get out of her stroller and follow the hippos along the glass. She was utterly amazed. There were two in the tank and they were chasing each other and playing, she just loved it! I should have brought her some popcorn!!
